In Need of a Lifeline

I love to watch business videos.  People are so energetic and confident they can help you take your business to the next level in a rapid amount of time.  This conversation intrigues me because it feels like you’re in Las Vegas at the casino expecting to hit really big.  You look and around and everyone is doing the same thing and getting the same results, with the exception of 1 or 2 whom you never see.

Gambling is a quick jolt of energy rush for me.  Although I know my stakes of losing are greater, I always anticipate a win.  Because I’m not naive to the likeliness of loss, I go in with a plan and budget what I am willing to gamble.  I control my stakes because I control my losses.  If only running a business were the same.
No one ever goes into business with the expectation of losing.  Yes, you know you have a likelihood of failure, but the scent of success calms down that opposition and lets you put the pedal to the metal.  If you read success books, you see that there are so many plans to make it to the top, but I what I have found for the past 20 years is that I need to learn more how to navigate the plans to keep me off the bottom.
Success does not come easy and there is no simple way to develop a formula that guarantees you will get rich!  Think about it.  If I show you a picture of my garden and the innumerable amounts of produce it yields, it may get you excited about gardening.  Heck, if she can do it then I can to!  That is the right way to think about it, but did you consider the other contingencies.  Did you know that timing is everything?  Did you know that the ph level of your soil determines if you will grow anything successfully?  Did you know that you can’t plant the same seedlings I used at anytime, but you have to wait for the right season?
Yep, when you start considering all of the other stuff that goes into your formula of success then you begin to think again if that is what you really want.  The good Lord says…to whom much is given, much more is required.  That means you are going to exercise brain muscles you never knew you had to see continual success.  Yes, you get many glimpses that there is hope, but are willing to change your plan if it doesn’t work.  When you should you let go and move on?
To be continued….
